Best Paintball Marker
Whats the best paintball marker for woodsball?
I was thinking about getting into paintball and I think I'm going to do woodsball instead of speedball. Which marker would be good for this. I was thinking about getting a smart parts ion xe, a tippmann , or a proto matrix , but people have told me not to get the tippmann. What upgrades should i get. Should i use air or co2. Thanks
The Tippmann a-5 is a great woods-ball marker. I think you will find that upgrading a 98 to match the functionality of the a-5 is not cost effective. a-5s come with a cyclone feed that makes upgrading to a response trigger or e-grip easy and affordable. The first time you are nailed down under heavy fire you'll wish you had the ability to throw extra paint, and the 98s just don't keep up with the a-5s, at least not without spending a small fortune to upgrade. x-7s on the other hand are more expensive and have pretty much the same features as the a-5. Some think they look cooler, and that's what you pay for. Plan on upgrading your barrel on the a-5, and you'll probably want a response trigger or an e-grip especially if you are playing against someone else that has one. I thought I would be fine with a 98, but the first time I played against someone with an e-grip I went and bought an a-5 with response trigger. That gives you the ability to unload more paint and cut through brush or hold people down when the heat is on. If it is in your budget definitely go to compressed air for better consistency of shots, Co2 fluctuates a lot and that effects shot accuracy. In my opinion compressed air is not as crucial as the other upgrades unless you are playing in cold weather.
