Can I get in trouble 4 Buying somthing that was stolen But I didnt know?

Ok I bought A SmartParts Dynasty Shocker Paintball Gun For $300 which is $200 More brand new. Two weeks later im at a paintball field and a guy asks me how much I got the gun for because it's stolen, I tell him 300 then he calls the person who owns the gun. At that Point he is coming into the field and im leaving. When I get home I tell my my cousin who is all to familiar with the law what just happened and he said that I can go to jail for possession of stolen property. Will I get in trouble for Having it When I didn't know it was stolen. And if the owner does see me because there are only 3 paintball fields can he call the police on me, And will they take it? Will I get my money back?

You are not going to get your money back unless the person who sold it to you gives it back.
If you think the gun is stolen you have the responsibility to return it.
Ask the person to show you his proof, and then give it to him.
Knowing that you possess stolen property is a crime.
Did you buy the gun from a store or someone you know?
Do you know how to contact the person who sold the gun?
You should help the police.
I once bought a trailer from a trailer dealer that was stolen and I got my money back.
Don't try to hide, either the owner or a friend will see you and you will be in big trouble.
