I'm wondering if the Spyder MR1 makes for a good paintball sniper marker with this kit

Yes it does, it is a powerful gun that is effective in both close quarter action and long distance. The scope is also extremely effective in long rage battles. Depending on the types of courses you play on this could be an extremely effective marker. I have owned it and it is excellent. I play in urban type areas in doors if that helps.
