Is there really a need for the feed neck on paintball markers?

Do you really need to keep the feed neck on your marker? If so why? Because I really dont like it... If i take it off will there be problems with the shooting? Or any problems if that?

Yes, the feed neck is vital... at least with all the hopper styles on the market today. If you use a QLoader or a Warp Feed, then you don't really need a feed neck as long as you have something for the tube to attach to.
