What is the best marker to use when trying to make a paintball sniper rifle?
I plan on making my own paintball sniper rifle, I'm kind of new to the subject so I was wondering what to start with.
i would go with a spyder mr1. You can find it for cheap at http://www.actionvillage.com/010-214-0066 (you could also get one in black). If you get it you should get the cheapest compressed air tank there is because it is ALOT better than co2 in the long run. You will notice this as your paintballing experience expands. Next you would have to get a sniper kit. You can find a good one here -------> http://www.rap4.com/paintball/os/spyder-marker-upgrade-c-22_1357_1388.html . They're kind of expensive Tho :S.
I personally wouldn't make it a sniper, I would go more tactical because a barrel over 14 - 16" actually isn't beneficial because as the ball goes down the barrel, after 16" it starts to drag which decreases velocity. Scopes also suck for paintball because everyone is always hidden very well and you usually don't get any chances to shoot or aim because you get taken out as you aim down your scope in a scenario field, BUT for woods ball with a gully suit, if your experienced you can but it's still pretty crappy. You SHOULD get a red dot scope, they're really awsum.
You should get a 14" barrel. The company Custom products makes an amazing one piece barrel that is dead accurate. Or you can get an APEX barrel from BT. It has an adjuster that puts a spin on the ball which curves it, it's really useful and it's fully adjustable.
