beginning paintball help?

I'm new at paintball and i don't know what i need. I'm thinking about a Tippmann 98 Custom Pro and thermal mask but i don't know what else i need. any help?
any gun recommendations too

A 98C is a great gun if your going to be playing woodsball and such. They are reliable, virtually indestructible, and highly upgradable.

A mask is a necessity and it should be a true thermal mask (duel lens). Sometime is high humidity areas, a fan is also needed with a thermal mask.

You will need a hopper of some kind, gravity hoppers usually come with it but I recommend an agitated hopper at the minimum as you won't have to shake the hopper to unjam it (anti-jam). The next best hopper would be a force fed hopper. The cyclone feed is a nice low profile hopper with multiple attachments and can be upgraded to feed upwards of 30BPS. Another good force fed hopper is the Empire Reloader B. It is an electronic, sound activated force fed hopper.

You will need either a HPA tank or Co2. In that your new to paintball, a Co2 tank will be just fine. Others may say HPA but to buy a good HPA tank, it will cost more than the gun and mask. A 20oz Co2 tank will be just fine and is not as bad as people make it out to be.

A barrel plug/bag is a common piece of equipment and is a necessary piece of safety equipment.

After the basics, you can upgrade the gun, your clothing, accessories according to how you play. You may later want a pod pack and pods to carry more paintball into the game. Camo to blend is more. It just depends on what you want.

Remember, before you upgrade and buy a lot of gear, go out and play and then from your playing, find what gear you want. Upgrade slowly.
