Whats the difference Between anti fog helmets and ones with a fan, or thermal helmets?
Im looking to buy a paintball mask. It seems that every mask on every website claims to be anit-fog , ot fog proof. To me it sounds like its too good to be true if EVERY mas has it, even the 15 dollar ones. I also saw masks with a fan, what does that do.
What does a thermal mask do that is different than nay other mask.
A mask i want to buy would have to be under 50 dolars, and have full head cover, but not fog up a lot
First of all, they are not helmets. They are Paintball Masks.
Second, there is NO SUCH THING as "fog proof". That sort of thing just does not exsist. In warm humid air, (especially after a rain) even the very best Thermal lenses with fans will fog up too.
Understand this one thing about Paintball Masks, Thermal lenses are far superior than non thermal lenses when it comes to fogging up. Thermal lenses are much more expensive than regular lenses however. Anyone that used both, would never ever go back to a non thermal lens.
As far as fans... they work a little bit. But, very little. In my opinion, they arent worth the extra $40-$60.
Be warned, never ever used chemicals like windex or alcohol to clean any goggle lenses. NEVER! This will instantly start to deteriorate the lens and will "etch" so to to speak the lens making it harder to see through. Only use clean water and a clean cloth to clean your lenses.
