Paint breaking in my Tippmann x7...?? (Paintball)?

Please, help appreciated, as I am inexperienced. ;-D Just got a used X7, had issue w/ it, sent it to Tippmann for warranty repair, they had to replace the valve, plus they oiled 'er up, new o-rings and sent it back. (Great folks to deal with!!)
Problem is this- NOW...i take the marker out, only a few shots, I have balls breaking in barrel. Hmmm.Turned velocity adjustment screw all the way down , it helped a bit, but then more of the same. (*paint all in the cyclone feed also). FYI, I'm using a JJ ceramic 14", but I had balls breaking when I went back 2 stock brl also. I was using Zap (cheap) paint, couple months old... could this be it? Seems as if the servicing and return from Tippmann would preclude any mechanical or functional issue...I'm pretty frustrated and again, i dont have the experience to give me the needed insight. Sugegstions on how to begin, to trouble shoot? Start w/ better paint? Or what should I eliminate/or check to start? I look forward to any help--thnx

squishy paddles can be found on eBay quite reasonable. Plus get yourself some decent paint- look at pballreview.com for some reviews on different balls...
